| “Youth Law School” |
 On July 21-25, the Mary American Corner along with 7 FLEX alumni arranged Youth Law School for 15 high school students. The purpose was to give the basic understanding of law, to introduce the participants to the courtroom procedures, to develop strategic and critical thinking, questioning, listening, and researching skills, to improve their public speaking abilities through the Mock Trial and other related activities. The school was started with an ice-breaker to meet the selected
participants. During the project there were many successful presentations on American Legal History, where the participants learnt about legal documents of the government before and after the United States Constitution, the presentations on Anglo-Saxon and Continental law systems, International Criminal Court, its establishment, location and functions.

FLEX alumnus ’10 Nazar Nazarov hold a presentation at American Corner Turkmenabat about the state California where he had his exchange experience. Nazar Nazarov showed pictures to 15 ACT visitors. Also he talked about Los Angeles, the city where he stayed, about their diverse culture, population. Nazar Nazarov ’10 was speaking about Golden Bridge, Disney World and all other entertained places that are in California. Besides, being in the USA Nazar created a video about California, its restaurants, and high schools and halfway that he showed to ACT visitors. Moreover, Nazar talked about peculiarities of California as one of the most beautiful states. Visitors were much excited seeing all pictures and video. They asked him several questions about the laws and political system in California. Besides California, Nazar Nazarov ’10 talked about the places he visited as Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. AC volunteer Aleksey Puzarin said: “This year I have a chance to participate in FLEX and I do hope that I can see California and know more about its history…”
New alumni ’10 are already inspired in holding various clubs and activities, sharing their American cultural experience, their feelings, and opinions with American Corner Turkmenabat visitors. So alumnus ’10 Vlad Sokolov has started taking part at ACT organizing American History Class. Studying American history in the USA Vlad Sokolov ’10 chose this club in order to share his gained knowledge with students. Vlad Sokolov plans to teach history of the USA in a chronological order explaining every event with pictures and actions, not missing any detail. On the first class Vlad Sokolov ’10 talked about America itself and asked what students had already known about this land of opportunities. Then he was talking about his American experience, giving points about the modern America long before it was founded. He showed pictures of different places that were taken during his American experience and, thus, he tried to make distinguish, letting attendees understand the USA and how the course of the whole history influenced on nowadays America. In conclusion of the discussion Vlad Sokolov ’10 talked about next topics that they would study later.
FLEX alumna, Leyla Ovezova arranged Book Wormers Contest on Reader’s Day. In the beginning of the activity the competitors were introduced to the contest rules and reviewed the Top Ten Favorite Mary American Books. After which the competitors divided into two teams and made up names for their teams. The participants had to choose the questions from the five categories: Bestsellers of all times, MAC Favorites, Famous writers, Stories we all know and Random. The Brain Ring teams “Super Crew” and “Super Young” were very anxious to face challenging questionnaire. The Brain Ring had many general questions about authors, main characters, short description and fast facts. At the end the team with most points won.
